New learning resource available to support the co-development of complex, patient-oriented health interventions with and for older adults
The Collaborative is excited to launch our second (free) online learning module, Developing Complex, Patient-Oriented Health Interventions. This open-access, self-paced module provides guidance to researchers when co-developing complex, patient-oriented health interventions with and for older adults.
The module draws upon the real-world example, the Aging, Community and Health Research Unit Community Partnership Program (ACHRU-CPP) — a program to improve self-management for older adults who have diabetes and multiple chronic conditions, and includes key references, principles, and approaches to intervention development. Lessons learned from this real-world example (funded in part by CIHR and Diabetes Action Canada) include the successes and challenges of using a co-design approach to this program from the perspective of both the researcher and a partner with lived/living experience.
More resources to support the co-design, implementation, evaluation, scale and spread of integrated, complex older adult-centred health interventions, can be found on our website, including the Scale and Spread of Health Interventions learning module.
