Event Info
Join our Collaborative Conversation on citizen and stakeholder perspectives about using remote-monitoring technology for older adults, with Michael Wilson, Scientific Director, McMaster Health Forum and Associate Professor in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence and Impact at McMaster University, and Ron Beleno, caregiver and citizen stakeholder.
During this conversation between research partners, we will discuss:
- The potential for using remote-monitoring technologies to enable people to stay in their homes or existing level of care in Canada
- Findings from a series of four citizen panels and a national stakeholder dialogue about whether and how remote-monitoring technologies can be used to support older adults stay in their homes longer and/or in their existing level of care
- Insights about actions that have been identified as important to advance this work
Reflecting Together will take place immediately following this live webinar at 1:00 p.m. This is an opportunity for community members to come together and share their thoughts on the topics discussed during this event. We hope you will be able to join us as we continue the conversation and take our learnings into action.

About our Speakers
Mike Wilson is the scientific director of the McMaster Health Forum and an associate professor in the Department of Health Evidence and Impact at McMaster University. His research is focused on harnessing and contextualizing the best available evidence along with citizen values and stakeholder insights to strengthen health and social systems. Mike and the Forum’s scientific team produce timely and demand-driven contextualized evidence syntheses that address pressing health and social system issues faced by decision-makers. This includes evidence syntheses produced within days (e.g., rapid evidence profiles or living evidence profiles), weeks (e.g., rapid syntheses that combine policy, system and/or political analyses) and months (e.g., systematic reviews or living evidence syntheses that are updated and enhanced over time). Mike also leads projects designed to spark action by convening citizen panels to identify citizens’ values and preferences and stakeholder dialogues to support collective problem-solving among government policymakers, system and organizational leaders, professional leaders and citizens.
